SportsCenter fans are now in a glass case of emotion. Amid the announcement of the press conference in which Florida State Quarterback Jameis Winston will find out whether or not he will be charged with sexual battery after being accused of the rape of a fellow FSU student, ESPN has announced that its scheduled SportsCenter appearance by Will Ferrell’s “Anchorman” character, Ron Burgundy, has been cancelled.

Burgundy was originally scheduled to appear on the nationally-syndicated sports show alongside fellow character Champ Kind, the sports analyst played by David Koechner.

ESPN tweeted the announcement via its SportsCenter account on Wednesday:

SportsCenter will air the Winston press conference Thursday night, which could lead to a potential suspension for the Heisman frontrunner.

Almost a year after Winston was initially identified as the attacker of a 19-year-old FSU student, DNA evidence recently attained by the Tallahassee Police Department will reveal if Winston was indeed the one responsible of the alleged rape.
